Two new Collections announced on Mental Health First Aid and Aquatic Environments

Posted by Emily Oliver on 2026-02-08

Last month we launched our Africa Collection and this month, we're delighted to announce two further collections following our calls for papers last year.

Mental Health and Psychological First Aid is an emerging field with multiple contexts and challenges to consider.  We open this collection with new articles exploring the challenges providing care for those affected by conflict (Ukraine), disaster (Libya) and other risky and fragile environments such as mountain rescue. There are articles on toolkits and curriculum guidelines to help practitioners plan their approaches for children and other learners.

In the Aquatic Environments Collection, we have a rich medley of papers from a theoretical framework for prevention, to lifeguard behavior and training, to jelly fish stings.

Our Collections aim to give voice to specific first aid topics and support researchers and authors to find relevant and varied content to support thier work.  We urge you explore these collections and contribute to them.
